Our Commitment to Responsible Borrowing
At Creditora, we believe customers should only be introduced to finance products that are appropriate for their circumstances. We are committed to promoting responsible borrowing and working with lenders and finance providers that support fair and responsible lending practices.
Creditora is a credit broker, not a lender.
Creditora is a trading style of Trust Claims Pro Ltd (Companies House no. 16450633), an Appointed Representative of Hotpond Media Ltd, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Trust Claims Pro Ltd FCA firm reference number: 1053862.
1. Responsible Finance Introductions
When customers submit an enquiry through our website, we may share information with lenders or finance providers to help assess eligibility for suitable finance products.
Lenders and finance providers are responsible for carrying out their own affordability and eligibility assessments before offering finance.
These assessments may include:
- Reviewing income and employment status
- Assessing regular expenditure
- Reviewing existing credit commitments
- Considering credit history
- Evaluating overall financial circumstances
Submitting an enquiry does not guarantee approval for finance.
2. Clear & Transparent Information
We believe customers should receive clear information before entering into any finance agreement.
Where finance is offered, lenders or finance providers should clearly explain:
- Loan amount
- Interest rate and APR
- Repayment schedule
- Total amount repayable
- Applicable fees or charges
- Cancellation or cooling-off rights where applicable
3. Credit Checks
Soft Searches
Some lenders or finance providers may use soft credit searches during initial eligibility assessments. Soft searches do not normally affect your credit score.
Hard Searches
If you proceed with a full application directly with a lender, a hard credit search may be carried out and recorded on your credit file.
4. Customers Experiencing Financial Difficulty
If you are struggling financially or experiencing repayment difficulties, you should contact your lender or finance provider directly as soon as possible.
Many lenders may be able to discuss:
- Alternative repayment arrangements
- Temporary payment support
- Financial hardship assistance
- Other forms of forbearance where appropriate
5. Vulnerable Customers
We recognise that some customers may be vulnerable due to circumstances such as:
- Financial difficulty
- Serious illness
- Mental health conditions
- Bereavement
- Relationship breakdown
Where appropriate, we aim to communicate clearly, fairly, and sensitively with all customers.
